Accomplished potter, David Coburn, studied with Tom Potter and Jim Lorio at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He subsequently moved to Seattle where he worked as a studio potter at Pottery Northwest from 1978 to 1988. He is experienced in high-fire, glaze reduction, wood- fire, salt and soda firing, Raku and pit-firing. Altered wheel thrown vessels, and constructed hand-built forms are representative of David’s work. Texture and interesting surface markings characterize his most recent pieces. David has been working at the Romero House since 2012.
David says, “I have been attracted to clay all of my adult life, and I still love it”!
