Mold-Making Workshop with Sid Henderson
Sundays, February 19 and March 5, 12 and 26
!:00 – 4:00 PM, fee $140, RHP members, $160 non-members
Fee includes 12 hours total of hands-on instruction, all materials, bisque and glaze firings and use of studio tools
Skill level: all levels welcome; some experience with hand building or wheel throwing is recommended.
Students will learn how to create a one piece plaster press mold from a bowl-like form they will make using hand building or wheel throwing methods.
Students will be shown how to carve textures and patterns into their original form, eliminating undercuts.
Students will prepare their leather hard model and pour a plaster mold.
Students will make multiple copies of their original form using their plaster mold. These pieces will be bisque fired by RHP technical staff.
Students will glaze their pieces under the instruction and supervision of the instructor. Student pieces will be glaze fired by RHP technical staff and students may pick up their work on a designated date following the glaze firing.
