CHARACTER FEATURES WITH GEORGE

SKILL LEVEL: all levels welcome

This class focuses on the development of facial expression in humans or animals using paper clay. Students will explore the connection between muscle anatomy and movement and expressive characteristics. Different facial types, facial features and proportion will be addressed. Students will sculpt expressive heads/faces using cone 10 paper clay. Application of under glazes and acrylics for creating colorful surfaces on completed sculptures will be demonstrated. Bring your own clay (Max’s is recommended) and reference photos to the first session.

CLASSES:

Classes are ongoing and can be enrolled on any class date for as many weeks as you like. Please select the number of weeks you would like to enroll.

NOTES:

  • Weeks must be used sequentially with no interruption.

  • It is recommended for beginning students to sign up for 8 consecutive weeks of class.

Classes are open to ages 16 and up.

Firing, use of studio glazes, personal storage space and over 50 hours* weekly of studio time are included in your class fee.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT: 2 students

NOTE: Studio/course fees are non-refundable. Classes missed because of medical emergency may be applied to future course sessions. Make-up classes are not transferable and must be completed by the original student only.
