The Romero House is conveniently located next door to the Tucson Museum of Art and within The Historic Block in the heart of downtown Tucson. We are a short walk to shops, restaurants, the Valdez main library and the Lohse YMCA.
Call us during studio hours. There will be a monitor who can answer basic questions. They may need a few rings to get to the phone so please be patient. They may also be somewhere in the studio where they momentarily cannot hear the phone.
All registered students have access to tools and equipment that include a spray booth, slab roller, clay extruder, pug mill, and grinder. Our facility houses a large wheel room furnished with both electric and kick wheels, a large hand building room, an auxiliary hand building room, a glaze room, a raw materials lab, personal storage, a room for work in progress, and a sales gallery. There are indoor and outdoor work areas. Our protected outdoor kiln yard provides electric kilns for bisque and low to mid-range firing, a front loading updraft kiln, and a large catenary arch car kiln. Use of studio glazes and all firings are included in the class fees, as are our generous open studio hours.
Settle in for the day, you will find a refrigerator, microwave oven and coffee pot on the premises. Bathrooms are located within the complex.
